Auf ihrer vierten CD "Tribal Vision" haben sie elf Eigenkompositionen aufgenommen. So beginnt das Album mit "Like an Indian", Wolfhearts epischer Erzählung und mystischem Sound. Flöte, Vibraphon, Keyboards und E-Gitarre begleiten den sonoren Gesang und Bass und Schlagzeug sorgen für den tollen Rhythmus.
Wolfhearts Stimme erinnert ein wenig an Barry White und der groovige Sound an die Temptations. Dennoch dominieren vor allem Native American Chants und Rhythmen wie bei "Dark Age and a Memory". Eingebettet in moderne Grooves und rockige Arrangements verzaubern indianische Flöten und Gesänge den Zuhörer. Piano und Flöte verleihen dem instrumentalen "Vision Circle" eine jazzige Note und Ziehharmonika und Gitarre beherrschen "Walk with the Wind", das ein wenig nach Americana klingt. Dann dominiert die fetzige E-Gitarre "Buffalo Thunder" und elektronische Effekte "United", beides rockig rhythmische Songs. "Sin of Ignorance" ist dem indianischen Bürgerrechtler Leonard Peltier, der in den Augen verschiedener Menschenrechtsorganisationen seit 32 Jahren als politischer Gefangener der Vereinigten Staaten inhaftiert ist, gewidmet.

Back to the Roots. Wenn es eben mal nicht so mit Pop und Rock im Exportgeschäft läuft, darf man getrost andere Pfade erkunden. So hat auch Wolfsheart seinen eigenen Weg verfolgt und liefert nun ein Highlight als edlen Stein in der Krone für die heimische Szene. Als erster weißer Musiker ever wurde der bürgerliche Bernhard Weilguni geadelt, live beim Zion Canyon Drum and Flute Festival auftreten zu dürfen. Der weithin bekannte Native Culture Event findet passend vom 7. – 8. Mai 2010 in Utah statt. Big City Indians new cd, Tribal Vision, can hit you with the power of rolling thunder while embracing you with the softness of a cool summer rain. This latest work may be their best yet. I found myself playing it over and over. Music is just an extension of story telling which is done to it's fullest with this project. What they produce musically is of the highest quality, totaly authentic but given an almost dance rock groove that would appeal to young festival audiences in the UK. Eleven tracks on this their fourth release, a large percentage of which would get audiences up and dancing within minutes. The production is crisp, vocals outstanding and they playing is first class. They really are one of the most unique bands plying their wares in Europe today; no other acts is doing anything quite like this. Wer CDs wie "Well Balanced" mag, der kommt bei diesem Album ebenfalls voll auf seine Kosten. Gleich zu Beginn des Openers "Twilight In Your Eyes" werden wir durch das Rauschen einer heftigen Brandung sowie dem einsetzenden Rhythmus, Flötenspiel und indianischem Gesang in die richtige Stimmung versetzt. Immer dann, wenn die American Native Flute einsetzt bildet sich vor meinem geistigen Auge ein Bild, das Felsformationen in der amerikanischen Wüste zeigt, um den ein Weißkopfadler seine Kreise zieht. "Walking Song" ein Titel, der mir besonders gut gefällt, da er eine sehr schöne und eingängige Melodie aufweist. Auch ist der Rhythmus hier poppiger. "Grandfathers Journey" ist ein sehr Natur verbundenes Stück, da es ausschließlich von Wolfsheart's Flöte gespielt wird, zu dem sich in der ersten Hälfte ein Wasserplätschern gesellt. Das bildet einen sehr schönen Ruhepunkt, bevor es in "Heart Of The Mother" wieder mit Keyboardflächen und indianischem Gesang weiter geht. Dieser Titel hat wieder eine sehr schöne Melodie. Der längste Titel, "Medicine Man" ist durch seine Melodie sowie dem Gesamtsound sehr eingänglich und gräbt sich sofort ins Ohr. Pianosound á la Tangerine Dream, so startet "Morning Spirits". Doch sobald die Flöte einsetzt sind wir wieder in der indianisch, verträumten Musikwelt. Das abschließende "Dreams" mit seinem langsam stampfenden Rhythmus führt uns dann langsam aber unaufhörlich aus der Welt der österreichisch/indianischen Kultur heraus ...

The title of the album honestly did intrigue me. So did the fact that this band was in Austria, of all places. It didn’t fit – Native Americans in the land of Aaarnold? Native Heart, Urban Soul. I was ready for a very percussive, groovy, loud and perhaps, spiritual experience. Well, I popped the CD in the player and cranked it up and was surprised by the sound of wind and water, acoustic guitar and rainstick, and a whispering voice. This wasn’t riling me up, it was calming me down. I looked at the jacket, the song was “Qujaka Wunkaiki Waki” and the lyrics were a repeating chant in a foreign language I could only assume to be a Native American tongue. The second song, “Memory of a Warrior” did start out with wonderful percussion and loud chanting, which got me sitting up. I don’t know what to call it without sounding ignorant and bigoted – the raucous war dance or rain dance perhaps? – wasn’t really what I got. What I got was unexpected and truly delightful. As you can imagine by that description, the collection of songs on “Native Heart-Urban Soul” is a peppered, dotted tapestry of blended elements which make up a new creation that is difficult to separate and isolate and deem “this” or “that” kind of music. Soulfully performed and beautifully mastered, “Native Heart-Urban Soul” is a proud accomplishment for Big City Indians, and a welcome addition to my CD collection... Bikertrash, USA

The band mixes Indian tribal music with rock music. The result is a new-age kind of mood music with all kind of specific vocals and rhythms. It's hard to tell where a song starts and were it ends, it's more like a spiritual experience than twelve independent songs. Besides the music they also pay a lot of attention to the lyrics which tell about the rich cultural live of the Indians. It's not easy to follow the lyrics throughout the cd, if this really is important for the group I think they need to bring the vocals a little bit more to the front. But than, the lyrics are also printed in the booklet so that gives us the change to enjoy the special sound-landscape of this cd.
